2026 Porsche Cayenne

2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric: A New Era of Porsche Performance Arrives in the UK

The Porsche Cayenne has always been a landmark model. In 2002 it redefined what a performance SUV could be, becoming a global success and reshaping Porsche’s future. Now, more than 20 years on, it does it again—this time by going fully electric. The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric introduces a new chapter for the brand, bringing supercar-level power, long-distance comfort and genuine off-road capability into the EV age.

Arriving in the UK from £83,200, with customer deliveries planned for mid-2026, the new electric Cayenne doesn’t just join Porsche’s expanding EV line-up—it becomes its most powerful production car ever.

Porsche Cayenne Electric: Specs, Power & Performance

Porsche launches the Cayenne Electric with 402bhp (436bhp with Launch Control), 0–62mph in 4.8s, and a 143mph top speed.

The flagship Cayenne Turbo Electric delivers up to 1,140bhp/1,500Nm, hitting 0–62mph in 2.5s and 162mph.

A new motorsport-derived drive system with direct oil cooling ensures consistent power, while 600 kW Formula-E-level energy recuperation allows 97% of daily braking to happen without friction brakes. Porsche sets a new benchmark for performance EV SUVs.

A 398-Mile Range and Some of the Fastest Charging in the World

At the heart of both versions is a 113kWh battery, double-side cooled for optimal efficiency. Official UK WLTP ranges stand at:

Cayenne Electric: up to 398 miles
Cayenne Turbo Electric: up to 387 miles

With 800V charging technology, the Cayenne Electric can charge at up to 390 kW (and under certain conditions, even 400 kW). That means:

10–80% charge in under 16 minutes
Up to ~315 miles of range added in 10 minutes (Turbo)

Porsche also debuts inductive wireless charging, available optionally in the UK, allowing owners simply to park over a charging panel at home to top up at up to 11 kW.

A Heavyweight With Surprising Capability

Despite its performance, the Cayenne Turbo Electric is also the heaviest Porsche ever, weighing 5,831 lbs (2,645kg). The battery alone weighs roughly 600kg—almost as much as an entire classic Porsche 356 SL.

But the weight hasn’t held it back. A prototype Cayenne Electric recently smashed the SUV record at the historic Shelsley Walsh hill climb by more than four seconds, showcasing the sheer capability of Porsche’s newest EV.

It’s also impressively practical for the UK market, with a 3.5-tonne towing capacity—matching a diesel Range Rover and far exceeding most EV rivals.

The Verdict

The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric is not simply another electric SUV. It represents Porsche’s bold vision for the future, combining supercar performance, rapid charging, long-distance range and remarkable towing capability in one package. Whether you need space for the family, long-distance comfort or acceleration that rivals high-end sports cars, the Cayenne Electric delivers.
